#girlcrush

One night last week, Katie, Ann, Vettie, and I ended up taking a spontaneous trip to Noodles and Co for a lovely dinner date.  It was good to escape campus and the stressed atmosphere of midterms week and focus on just being friends.  It was so great to sit outside, enjoy the beautiful weather, eat mac and cheese with my sisters, and drive with the windows down, screaming the words to "We are Young."

After dinner, we were all tweeting at each other, naturally, and after much hashtagging, someone described our love as a #girlcrush.  I don't think I could have put it in better words myself.  I can't help but want to hang out with these girls lately and hear about their day and share my day with them.  I'm thankful that these aren't girls that I would have considered myself to be good friends with, even a few months ago.  We are all so different from each other, but we are all Delta Gamma sisters, and that's what brings us together.  DG is hands down the best thing that has happened to me since starting at Drake, and everyday I realize that in a different way.  This past week, I've realized that I would never have been friends with Ann or Katie or Vettie in high school or probably even college, but that they are quickly becoming a main part of my daily life, and that's something I am completely excited about.
